Julie has developed her visual facilitation skills through a broad range of experience from non-profit to for-profit; from individuals and small groups to conferences with 1000+ participants. Her style is flexible depending on the needs of the client. Julie received professional training through her internship with the Grove Consultants International (Principles of Graphic Facilitation and Visual Planning Systems), working with a variety of visual practitioner mentors and her work for Capgemini in their Accelerated Solutions Environment. This experience has strengthened her ability to modify her skills based on the environment and needs of the client and participants.
She works in all scales and mediums, from flip chart to mural, pens and pastels to white board. She is able to create digital documentation of entire meetings and workshops, creating a deliverable for the participants that deepens the learning long after the meeting. Her background in creative writing and undergraduate degree in Film and Video production from the University of California, Santa Cruz has given her the ideal structure to build not only the real time visual maps, but an electronic deliverable that allows the client to access the content that was covered, through written synthesis and digital capture of the entire experience.
Julie is a graduate student at Fielding Graduate University, studying Organizational Management and Development. A certified Master in Neuro-Linguistics, Julie is currently undertaking coaching certification with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). Utilizing the tools of visual facilitation and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) to work with individuals and groups in a coaching frame she facilitates creative and decision-making processes to “Map the Vision” and coach clients towards that vision. She is inspired by the ability of visual facilitation to involve participants on a broader spectrum, incorporating varied learning and personality styles, which results in increased engagement, creativity, productivity and recall.
