Jim brings 25+ years experience as an independent graphic designer and illustrator to his work as a graphic facilitator/recorder. Since 2006, he has worked with a variety of corporate and non-profit companies across the country as an active participant in workshops, meetings, ideation and brainstorming sessions. He enjoys working in group situations, using his thinking and drawing skills to augment and enhance the creative process. Whether it's brainstorming with a major manufacturer on new product ideas; assisting the leadership team of a global corporation in developing a five-year plan; or working with a school going through reorganization, Jim is always up for a new challenge.
Located in the Washington, DC area for much of his career, Jim has worked with a number of non-profits, associations, schools and federal agencies, particularly in the areas of health care, finance, telecommunications and education. Clients range from the American Bankers Association to USDA to Ringling Bros. and Verizon.
His illustration work has appeared in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Legal Times, and Forbes.com, as well as in advertising for Kraft Food, Campbell's and Capital One, among others. This background has given Jim the ability to quickly visualize complex concepts in a way that is easily understood by the audience. Combined with good listening skills, natural curiosity and a dry sense of humor, Jim's work makes for engaging and memorable images.
When not drawing with markers in front of groups both small and large, Jim spends a lot of time in front of his computer, creating with Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, GoLive, Powerpoint, Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and Filemaker.
Though based in Washington, he is close to three major airports (count 'em), and ready and willing to travel just about anywhere on assignment.
