I have been a graphic recorder for three years now. As a graphic recorder, I ‘scribe’ in real time, the processes, discussions and plans as they emerge from a facilitated group using visual language. I work closely with the facilitator before the event to orchestrate how my skills can best be utilized by the group. During the event, I am smiling and working hard and after the event, I am following up with the client and the facilitator. The skills I believe are essential to this occupation are listening, thinking on your feet and visioning/organization. I have done graphic recording for the following organizations:

I am always up for a challenge! I am passionate about education and reaching my goals and am excited by where the future may take me! I thoroughly enjoy working with people and I value any opportunity to expand my horizons.
I am a hard worker with excellent time management skills. I am never afraid to learn something new or to meet new people. I embrace change but value tradition. I have experience in shareholder negotiations, networking, coordinating, planning and computer use. I have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
I have been mentored by my parents, Rob and Laurie Benn who have over 30 years combined experience with graphic facilitation. I have assisted with many projects including graphic recording, post-graphic production, logistics, conference planning and letter writing.
I am almost finished my honours degree at York University in Cognitive science. Cognitive science pulls together the knowledge of many disciplines including psychology, neurology, philosophy and robotics! My degree has offered me insight into why visual language and group thinking are so productive. I have utilized my recording and facilitation skills numerous times in and out of the classroom for assignments and group projects. University has fine tuned my critical thinking skills and my ability to organize a large workload into a budgeted schedule. University satisfies my need to learn and to think big! I am excited about the doors my degree could open in my future!}
