Since launching Flanagan-Hyde Solutions in 2003, I’ve provided consulting services to diverse groups in health care, education, law, and business, including foundations, government agencies, medical practices, managed care plans, consulting firms, trade associations, corporations, schools, and conferences. My expertise (developed over more than 30 years) includes group facilitation, strategic planning, technical and consumer writing, policy analysis, qualitative and quantitative research, and focus group moderation.
I facilitate large and small groups, including retreats, team building and communications programs, brainstorming sessions, and program development planning sessions, among others.
One of my key roles as a facilitator is to “hold the space” and create an atmosphere in which participants can listen to each other with care, speak with respect, and make useful contributions. The result is a high level of participant satisfaction with the meeting’s organization, focus on goals, and tangible accomplishments.
I blend a variety of approaches based on the needs of each group, and have formal training in graphic facilitation, World Café, Open Space Technology, circle process, and other methods of strategic collaboration. I typically document group discussions on flip charts and murals “real time” using words, imagery, and metaphors.
I hold a master of arts in organizational change from Prescott College, Prescott, AZ, and a bachelor of arts from Williams College, Williamstown, MA. I am an IABC accredited business communicator.
