Growing our Businesses by Appreciating our Gifts
Susan Kelly
, Occasions by Design

Over the past 15 years while diving deeply into the underpinnings of our work in order to write about it, I have always searched for ways to express the essence of what we do as visual practitioners; but I have shifted my lens recently, and now I invite you to do the same, to fully appreciate (in 2 ways) the rich palette of what we offer the world in terms of who we are and our unique contributions.

In this time together, I will briefly offer some of my contextual thoughts/ideas and then, prompted by real stories and graphics, as a group, add to this picture the benefits of our work and how these might get translated to the bottom line.

Attendees will learn:
Create an "environmental scan" of the rich palette that represents us and our tools and approaches, including specific benefits of our work.
See new possibilities and applications for our individual businesses and realize the power at our fingertips!
See how we might frame our conversations with people about the value of our work in the context of their needs.

Susan Kelly
I have been a visual practitioner for 25 years, a former board member of IFVP and one of the original conveners of the annual IFVP Conference. Visual thinking is my passion and, in addition to my regular reflective graphics work, over the past 15 years, I have been writing about it and actively promoting the field and mentoring new practitioners.

I will continue to help bring ideas to life, heighten learning and collaboration and help people discover essence and meaning.

Avril Orloff will be recording Susan's session. Avril is a new member to the IFVP and will be joining us in Chicago for her first IFVP conference.
