Exciting News!

Some pretty exciting things are happening in my world, and I wanted to share the news with you!

I’m launching a new service in Greater Victoria called Visual Divorce Mediation to help couples come to a mutual agreement on how to dissolve their relationships, which is an idea born out of the experience I had during my recent divorce.

As the story goes, I was reeling from my breakup and the prospect of having to restructure my entire life. Family mediation seemed like the way to go, but I soon learned that not all mediators are created equal. Our entire mediation process was counterproductive to helping me and my soon-to-be-ex work through all the financial, material, and emotional parts of separating our lives.

The fundamentals of setting the stage for mediation were skipped and agreements were not written down effectively in the sessions. As an industry leader in visual facilitation, it was beyond frustrating to witness. I know the power of visuals and how to guide an effective conversation. More than once I thought, “We’d be able to make sense of all this, track what’s important and see possibilities so much easier if we were working visually.”

Which is why, once I got through my divorce, I became a nationally certified Comprehensive Family Mediator, mentored with Victoria’s top family mediators, and using my graphic facilitation skills, have now created Visual Divorce Mediation. Check it out at http://lisaarora.com/
