Our Hosts

Upon joining the working world, SunShine BenBelkacem realized she was meant to be a problem solver using design thinking and drawing. No wall, whiteboard, or piece of paper has been safe since. She is a member of The Value Web and currently serves as the president of The International Forum of Visual Practitioners and a graphic facilitator with 25 years of experience. Born in France, SunShine studied Literature and Political Science in the U.S.

Peter Durand is an artist, educator, and graphic facilitator in Chicago. He studied painting, illustration, and printmaking in St. Louis, Paris, and Poland. He worked his first collaborative design event in 1996, founded Alphachimp in 1998, and has been involved in growing the practice of graphic recording and facilitation ever since. He serves as a Board Member and Learning Community Manager for The Value Web. He is an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University School of Law, teaching students how to use visual communication for systems change.
