IFVP Institute December update

UPDATE FROM THE IFVP INSTITUTE: We are holding monthly meetings and recently welcomed two new board members. Carlo Gilmar joins us from Mexico City and brings a connection to young professionals. David Sibbet joins us from Petaluma, and brings us a connection to the founding and development of our practice. They join Susan Kelly, Phil Bakelaar, Renatta Algalarrondo, Raquel Benmergui and Lisa Allen on the board as we continue to get our projects started. We are assisted in our competencies/capabilities project by Tanya Gadsby, Erin Gordon and Brian Tarallo. We recently reviewed hundreds of skills that are part of various models of visual practice, and true to our field, did clustering and categorizing! We expect to bring some more discussion to our community in the next months. Lisa continues to work on interviews that help us understand the development of GF and GR practice. We also congratulated Julia Reich on her MFA exhibition of graphic recordings at Indiana State University, a sign of the increasing presence of our field in academic institutions. We noted that Dr B taught a graduate class in Visual Facilitation this Fall 2020 Semester at Montclair State University, site of the 2019 in person conference, and the students worked on the Institute research bibliography. The Institute is a US 501c3 nonprofit supported by tax deductible donations and is chartered to give attention to the academic, scientific and charitable development of visual practice.
