The IFVP Board of Directors met on July 8 for their monthly meeting. We received a recommendation from the Global Summit Proposal Review Committee regarding locations for 2024 and 2026, which were approved. We also continued work on our strategic planning, moving now through the value propositions for each of the identified personas.
We are encouraging regional meetups between August 1 and September 31 this year. We have a variety of materials available to help with planning but there is no set form, it can be a few people having coffee or dozens meeting in person for open space or an online gathering...look back through our news here for video tips on organizing your regional meeting. Let us know what your plan is and we will publicize it on our website and curate any materials you send to share with the larger community.
We also discussed the challenges involved in timing for our meetings given our international representation. We are going to try a weekday meeting for August to see if that is helpful.
Long time board member Leah Silverman announced that this would be her last meeting (over the protests of the rest of the board!). She will continue to be available as a resource person. We are tremendously grateful for all of her service and willingness to continue to be involved as a support person.
We spent time discussing the recent facebook GF page discussion about IFVP and pro bono announcements. We are preparing a statement to go out in the next week. It is a complex question and we want to honor the different perspectives.
As we get ready to transform our strategic planning into particular strategies and tactics, we'd love to hear from members who would like to take hold of one or more of our value propositions and work with us on turning aspirations into actualities! There is so much we want to do with our community! Let us know if you would like to help out.
