Rising Competencies: Scribing as Cultural Naturopathy

If our work as scribes is to help surface the wisdom of the collective, the current norms of listening silently and giving a five minute report back only scratch the surface of the value we are capable of offering.  As more clients commit to doing anti-racism/JEDI* work within the larger cultural climate of racial reckoning, the competency to scribe in service of healing racial trauma is invaluable.

Building from the professional scribing traditions of my Nahua ancestral lineages, we will explore the body as a model and metaphor for illustrating culture.  Using introductory embodied practices we will apply the social art of graphic recording to diagnose oppression and resource the people who must make the organizational changes that cultural healing requires.
