Join artist Angela Krieg and the International Forum of Visual Practitioners (IFVP) for an upcoming 2 hour session on how to draw your surroundings quickly!

Angela Krieg says: "My background is in illustration and two of my hobbies are Visual Journaling and Urban Sketching, which I often combine. These two disciplines have taught me to draw my surroundings quickly and expressively. Through the workshop Visual Journaling on the Go: The Art of Drawing your Surroundings quickly, I can give participants from different backgrounds some tips and techniques to draw quickly whether they are drawing in a sketchbook or in front of clients."
Objectives:
- Learning to understand your surroundings.
- Practice drawing new things fast.
- Observe, draw and learn!
- Translate location, time, and activities into visuals that can be drawn daily.
- Looking at your world as an artist, and with a renewed sense of wonder.
This will be an interactive presentation. Participants will practice new ways to observe the world around them and to put it down on paper for personal visual journaling.
Tools needed:
Option 1: Pens, Pencils, Erasers and Paper. Colored Markers, Colored Pencils or Crayons are Recommended.
Option 2: An Ipad, Ipad pencil and a drawing program. The program Procreate is recommended.
More about Angela Krieg: Angela has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology, and is trained in a variety of mediums and different fields of art.
A native of Upstate NY, now residing in suburban Boston, she is an obsessive sketchbook artist, archiving her experiences on paper and her iPad. She is an illustrator and visual practitioner, using images to help distill information and facilitate communication for businesses and events. She is passionate about capturing stories and perspectives that critique the standards of today.
